The context

The customer is a well-known German car manufacturer that has adopted Fleet Manager for one of its main Italian offices. The cars and motorbikes in the park are all produced by the parent company and, therefore, are all owned by the company itself.

The problem

It was complicated and time-consuming to make different offices responsible for different areas relating to the management of the company fleet communicate with each other. The client aimed for the wisest management possible of a rather large fleet of cars, to which more than 400 people have access, including managers, administrators and employees. This meant having to manage hundreds of internal emails a day just for the car fleet management, exponentially increasing the workload.

The solution

Since 2004 Fleet Manager has supported the company in managing the car and motorbike fleet at multiple levels. In addition to management support in car transfers for events, VIPs and sponsorships, the customer uses the software for all aspects relating to car maintenance (with unified reporting of road tax, insurance, etc.) and for the assignment of cars to employees and managers for business trips. In this regard, the software easily manages the profiles of hundreds of people, regulating their requests and car assignments.

The application has also implemented a payment system, such that the car installment granted to employees is directly deducted from their pay slip. Naturally, the software also manages all aspects concerning the self-dependent association, including the possible withholding of fines.

The result was an optimization of approximately 40% in the use of the entire vehicle fleet over the years.
